What is Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is common and becomes more common as men age. ED is when a man is unable to get and/or keep an erection that allows sexual activity with penetration. It is not a disease, but symptomatic of other problems, either physical, psychological or a mix of both.

Australian research suggests that at least 1 in 5 men over the age of 40 will suffer from erectile problems and 1 in 10 are simply unable to obtain an erection. Around 25% of Aussie men claim to have experienced erectile dysfunction, either temporarily or ongoing.

ED is common so you shouldn't feel alone or embarrassed to seek help

Factors that may contribute to ED include: stress, anxiety, life style choices, or medical conditions such as diabetes, low testosterone and high blood pressure (to name just a few). Whatever the underlying cause, left untreated the issues often snowball and become worse over time.
